Thank you for the beautiful dictionary I hope you will be blessed by God. I really will enjoy looking at the pictures on the pages. I like reading because it makes me a better learner and I will be smart.

Fun Festival

During the weekend my cousins, aunties and I went to the Fun Festival at Alexandra Park.

There were many rides at the Fun Festival. The first ride I went on was the Sizzler, it was fun. There was also a Horse ride so Alilia and I went there, the Horse was huge.

During the Fun Festival it began to rain. I thought the rain wasn't going to stop but I was wrong. When the rain stopped everyone was having a great time.

Before we left we got to go on one more ride.Alilia and I chose to go on the Sizzler again. When we were off the Sizzler we ran to the car where my Uncle Willie and Aunty Donna were.Before we went home we had Island Cakes it was yum!

Gymnastics

On Tuesday Mr. Gaffney and Room 3 went to gymnastics. Our gymnastics coaches name was Flaminio. First of all we down and stretched and made shapes with our hands and feet.

Next we got into two groups girls and boys. The boys went on the equipment on the left and the girls went on the equipment on the right. When everyone had a turn on the equipment the groups changed. When we finished with the equipment the two groups had to sit in the middle of the hall.

Flaminio then told us we were going to play a fun game. We had to choose two taggers, if the taggers tagged the people that were running the runner has to stand like a big star fish but to be free a runner has to crawl under the tagged persons legs. I had a lot of fun.

My Holiday

In the holidays my aunty, uncle, my mum, my cousin and I went  to the movies. We were going to watch Maleficent.

When enter the Cinema  there were lots of people and i could tell that everyone was excited to watch Maleficent. When we were in the room we started eating the Popcorn.

When all the adds finished the movie began, all of us were happy especially me. I had lots of fun at the movies.

Finally the movie finished and all the food we bought in were also finished.

My Exciting Holiday

On my holiday my two aunties, mum and I went to Kohimarama Beach.

When we arrived at the beach it was very hot so  all we had a splash in the water. When we felt we had enough of swimming we went and built sandcastles. It was fun. My two aunties called Maryann and Raymona picked up lots of seashells to add to the sandcastles we made. Also I thought in my mind that there was a hundred seashells in my purple bucket.

Last of all we did cartwheels lots of times on the sand. First my aunty Maryann did a cartwheel, then my older aunty Raymona and I did the same.

We had a wonderful time at the beach and I hope we go again in the next holiday

Friendship - Mikaela

A friend is special because she is loving, playful and sometimes we share lunch. If she does not have any lunch she I share mine with her. When she needs help I can help her. My friend is helpful to me when I need help. When she's hurt I will help her up she also does the same for me when I am hurt. When I am sick and away from school my friend can take care of my desk. When someone in my family has past away my friend is kind enough to give me money to help my family. I love having friends!

How does Grass become Milk?

1. Each Cow eats about 70 kilograms of Grass.


2. The Grass gets digested (broken down) in the first two stomachs.


3. Then the Grass is squashed into a Ball  Cud.


4. The Cud is burped back into the mouth chewed for about a minute.


5. Then the Grass goes into the next 2 stomachs.


6. It then enters the bloodstream and is turned into Nutrients.


7. Then it enter the Udders as Milk.

Saint Pius Feast Day

On a bright day, Saint Pius x school celebrated Saint Pius x Feast day. The school went into the Hall, Room 2 and Room 1 went in first to sit down. The whole school and teachers sang Happy Birthday to you. Everyone was singing happily. Later on Mrs Tui called some of the older girls from Room 7 to come and give out the cake. The cake was big and there was enough for the whole school to eat! Some of the kids had two pieces of cake. After eating cake Mrs Tui asked if the Te Rangatira group could stand up and speak about it. Last of all it was time for the Basketball tournament. Kiwis stood up first and went to their leader. Kiwis went to Alexs older sister we had two lines. We went to the courts and lined at the back of the line, Tuis and geckos played against each other it was fun because Tuis won. Everyone was cheering and screaming for their team. After Basketball the students went back to class and got their bags and sat in two lines so we could go home. It was a fun and a sunny day.

On a bright Tuesday Room 5 went to badminton lessons we sat on the ground in the hall to listen what warm up game Room 5 is going to play. After the game Robbie told us to come back again to sit on the ground. Later on he told us to stand in one line. It was a long line that we had. Robbie gave us a racquet and a shuttlecock. Room 5 were hitting t eh shuttle in the air. After that Robbie told us to sit on the ground and then he told us that our lesson was finished. We went to class. Badminton was fun.

Swimming Day

On Monday, Room 5 went to swimming lessons. Everyone said it was cold. When we into the water it was a bit cold, but when we started doing the lessons, it started to get warmer.

First of all we used the swimming boards. Then we had to squeeze our arms behind our ears. It looked like we were stretching. We were holding our breath for a long time until we got to the end of the swimming pool. I couldn't do that because it was hard for me.

Next we learned to float on our backs. I couldn't do that because it was so hard for me. Then we floated on our tummies. That was a bit easy for me! We all had to put our chins on our chests.

Gillian pushed us along the way and we swam. Then we finished swimming.

Finially the girls went into the tent to get changed. The girls were so cold, they all put their jumpers on. I did it too. When we got out of the pool, it was cold. It was so warm in the pool, but when we got out it was cold.
